Skol 6 Day Race

Does anyone remember the Skol 6 at the old Wembley Pool back in the 60's, early 70's.
I went to watch a couple of times. There was the Chris Barber Jazz Band playing in the track centre along with hordes of drunken spectators. The riders slept in cabins in the track centre taking it in turns to sleep whilst their teammate circled the track during the "off peak" times. The real racing session involved both riders on the track at the same time
The whole atmosphere was electric, brilliant racing spectacle.

The tiny track was portable and designed by Ron Webb. I believe it ended up at Calshot.

Yep, Did the Skol 6 in the mid 70's. Contingent of Hull Thursday Road Club usually went down if possible

First time in London and being on the tube was fantastic, was probably 15/16 at the time.

Cracking spectacle and seem to remember it was sponsored in part by a strange company called Honda selling a boxy little car called a Civic
