Skint...but needing forks...what should I use?

Have some Pace RC35 MXCDs. Believe elastomers to have died in a stack, so needing replacement.

Forks this old? Not looking good or likely.

So, what else should I fit? Had the Pace off eBay for £38. Recommend me something of similar travel but equal or better performance.

Frame is part ti/part cro-mo 17½" hardtail. Current thinking is more Pace, but been out of the mags and scene for a while, so not sure what's good, bad or ugly.
