Skeeter 1 's 1993 Kona Cindercone build thread.

Looking good, you can just tell this will end up being a stunning bike.
Looking forward to seeing it complete and entered into a botm, it'll definitely get my vote 👍
@Spanky22b Thank you so so much for kind words and support during my build...
It was my aim to get it entered before end of play this month, but life is just so hectic with one thing or another.
Also...the weather has been slightly on the lame side and I want to get a half decent photo of it if I can .👍🏻

I've hit a stumbling block in regards to my build (as I don't consider myself a professional at this whatsoever)
Amongst Christmas and ongoing family support my build has been paused for a bit.
But thankfully a new year certainly has brought health and wellbeing to mine and hopefully many more.

Now the issue is my velocity stem!
Now I am running Rock shox as I did back in my teenage years I can't get this demon out my head where it's annoying me that the cable hanger on the stem looks kind of lost (non functional)
Yes I'm sure there are lots of people who will say just stick the project twos back on,but I just HAVE to have Rock shox.
Looking back at old photos of my bike I can see my stem looks how it does now....non functional.
I guess I just totally overlooked it when I was 17.

So I'm putting this out here JUST incase Kona did do a 93 velocity stem with no hanger?.
As what I can see ,they didn't until following years??
So I am thinking of angle grinding it off ( nah only joking 😃)
I'm guessing I'll just have to embrace this as it just is what it is, however I've become a bit of a perfectionist and just can't unsee it 🙈.

Any mental support will be taken with open arms....

Many thanks

Ian 👍🏼

I'm pretty sure my 96/7 Lava Dome had a quill Velocity stem without hanger noodle.

Without noodle might not be year correct, but would likely be the right colour.

There's a tatty one on ebay.
