Not got one at the moment, liked the last one i had, agree with Si, they do have limitations, frustrating on flat sections as i like to hammer along in a big gear (especially on the road), simplicity and silent running is nice though, redundant cablestops not so nice.

Will build another eventually.

yup got 2
love the purity of s/s ,everyone should at least try one for a while

Why take two bottles into the shower when you can take one?

Ladies and Gentlemen I present Hattie the pug, Alfine 8 in the rear with a single speed cog up front, a quick switch a roo and single speed now in the rear.

Its supposed to be a "get me home" gear but I cannot see why it cannot be used when the mood takes you

All my built up bikes are geared, but have a frame that could be single-speeded - still undecided. :D

I didn't mention that I'm a fan having both a fixed and a normal SS in my stable at all times. Further I take part in SS races once in a while and did battle off road in Belgium SSEC11 on a 1950's fixed gear roadster, it was epic :D

SSUK next month on something with a freewheel and late 80's retro mtb style so slightly less stoopid

.

I have one, but its more somewhere to hang bits so i don't misplace them than for actual use.
IMO single speeds and welsh mountain do not make good bedfellows :D

Single Speed is all I use now and don't miss gears one bit, nor the sound of a chain bouncing around. Using the geared bike makes me feel a bit lazy if i'm honest.
Can't wait to build another :)
