Wanted silver 5-arm compact chainsets - SRAM/FSA?

struggling to find the campagnolo of my dreams i am going to open the field a little to an early SRAM rival or an FSA gossamer in silver/172.5

Have you considered something from spa cycles, they are unbranded and require a square taper bb but are available with a choice of chainrings depending on how much you want to spend.

i've looked at them but it's not as easy as it was to get a decent square taper BB these days - the bike has one at the mo but it's a campag ISO taper.

That is true. Since the demise of the UN51/52 I have used some token carbon shell / ti axle bb's and some very much cheaper sunrace ones.

Both have been good, the sunrace appears to be a clone of the UN51/52

The Genetic Karyotype seems to have lasted well for me, while the Token ones have a big overlap from the threaded endcap which acts as a water trap into the bearing. They lasted a single winter before rusting up.
Stronglight JP400 from Spa Cycles seem to do OK.

Thanks but I'm trying to avoid Shimano. I don't like the 'rounded over' axle bit. And the bike has campag so it'd just feel wrong.
