Show us your Univega

Update: changed this post into "Show us your.." Seems like there was no Univega thread.

I've been looking for a Univega Alpina Pro with the splatter paint for quite a while and finally found one in my size that seller was willing to ship from Germany to Denmark. Only the frame and crankset made it to this resto-mod build but I kept all the original parts.

Univegas are totally underestimated in my opinion. They are cheap, beautiful and good quality and there are still a lot for sale. This is the new beauty of my collection. Hope you like it.

That's a beautiful frame - great to see it being cherished and used!

Is it just me or do Alpina's also feel pretty light for a production steel frame?

Hi,
I have this old Alpina 503. Bought it new in 1996 and I always liked it´s sporty and light feel.
It has been "resting" for a while but now I have put on street tyres (complete wheels from another bike) and the gears will get an overlook.

I think brown saddle and grip should look good to the blue paint but I fitted black wheels so will stick to black saddle and grip for a while.

Then I'll join in too. I mostly use my Alpina S 7.7 for tours on easy terrain and have made it a bit more comfortable for this. If I get my hands on a cheap XT crank, I'll put that on too.

Nice!
I like your sadle. I've been thinking about changing to a more comfortably sadle.

I find Univegas very long. I'm almost 6,1 (185 cm) and hade to change to a shorter handlebar stem back in the days.

The saddle is ultra comfy, I found it used and very cheap. It is the titanium version so the weight is ok too. I would also ride a shorter stem but this one fits the color of the bike and my phone fits perfectly on top so I guess I'll keep it.
