The seatstays were damaged and bent when I first got it. I straightened them the best I could, but I think all the fettling has made the metal fragile. I don't really trust it any more, I might try and find a frame with some good stays and a damaged front and do the repair properly. It will probably end up hanging in the roof of the shed though
Shame it rides lovely and fits me perfectly. I've had 18 months use out of what was supposed to be a knackered frame so its not all bad
