Show us your... Overbury's

Lovely, I’d really like a tandem, unfortunately my wife doesn’t share this thought.

Back in the ‘90s the parents of a mate had a 1950s tandem, we managed to take it places they would have been surprised it could go in the local woods. Takes a lot of trust/stupidity to commit to some speed downhill on forest trails when you aren’t doing the steery bit. Great fun though.

Seat post is currently stuck. When weather improves I will probably melt it out.

Wow that one is near totally original, timely share, am just about to place the decals on mine and this pic will help loads. Sadly I have nothing like original components so will be using vintage but not exact match for deerhead and the hard to find headset etc. Ditto large flange hubs. I don't miss the solid axles, they failed on me repeatedly, ball bearings running down the road, erk. Keep us updated with pics of this survivor please.

I should explain that the bike was discovered in the remains of the collapsed workshop at the back of the Overburys shop .
I believe it to be the shop demonstrator . I have decided to leave the original paint just cleaned and waxed . I will get back
with some dimensions re decals

Its sad to realise that just 15 months after LGF started this topic , the Overburys cycle shop closed for good
in October 2011 , the reason for the sudden closure has never been discovered

In the spring of 2021 the building and contents were sold and the Overburys Crossfell ( see above ) discovered
in the remains of the workshop . See Readers Bikes for details of the restoration
