If there was ever a saying “you can get a quart onto a pint pot” it would be aimed at that pic ^^
re Bonneville - intermittent misfire steadily getting worse over about 50 miles. coupled with flat battery so thinking rectifier or stator
i sat near inverness for four hours in a diner watching the world go by resigned to the fact that i was about to undertake a different adventure. Local very helpful bike mechanic said part would take till monday so best to get recovered. AA Drivers were all fantastic inc two bikers. AA control weren't very organised - i could hear every call made by drivers having to repeat all info despite a 'log' etc, with huge 3-4 hour gaps between transfers other than the 4am one which was waiting when it was quiet i presume. But each drop was at services so can't really complain.
An aside. Driver 2 let it slip that north of Perth his was the only AA truck of any description, with two drivers on opposing shifts so often no cover at all on rest days or sickness. Everything else is subbed out to local garages.
No wonder there was a bit of a wait...... set out at 7.30 AM Wednesday, home at 6.30AM next day. Rectifier ordered and we'll see. Was never meant to be on the Bonneville. Came out to load other bike night before for a camping trip to Strathpepper and transalp had a flat. New tyre and tube monday for that. I had plenty of time to organise
600+ miles in 24 hours only riding/driving half of them.
Shit happens.....

been with AA for years - two adults any vehicle so covers my four cars/bikes plus anything else we're driving. first time i've used it. got my money's worth i'd say. They offered me a hire car and deliver the bike home within 48 hours but i wanted to stay with my baby.AA member for over 20yrs but this year's renewal was £230. Did some review checks and quotes etc AA came way down the list for performance and price. Now with Britannia for £73 and high rankings in reviews.
well.................So are you going for it again on the transalp next week?
