Re:

Here's my '97 Avalanche. I've owned it from new - got it from Ron Spencer Cycles in Warrington. When he sold it to me, ex-racer Ron Spencer himself said 'keeping it clean is half the battle'. He was absolutely right of course.

I rode it all the time during '97 - '99, but then life/work got in the way and usage tailed off. It endured a few idle years here and there (dry garage), and there was a bit of a rediscovery during 2008-09. Then last summer ('16) I went to the doctor and she told me off for being fat and having high cholesterol. The solution to this problem had been sitting there, waiting patiently, right in front of my eyes the whole time. Since then I've ridden the Avalanche more than ever before. Best thing I've done in years.

The Avalanche is not absolutely mint, but instead it has a nice 'patina' and it's in full working order, which is the main thing. This bike has been one of the few constants in my life for the last 20 years and there's no way I'm ever selling it. Ever.
