These are some I made back in 1993:

RS Mag21 crown with Columbus SL 24mm tapered track blades, top section doubled up to fit the 25.4mm crown with short sections of SL top tube (0.7 wall)
Still going strong today.

And bringing it more up to date:

A carbon/alu dual crown fork from Speedsoon (who?) destined for my non-suspension corrected Ti 29er.

Original Orange uni crown steel forks.... with a new respray.

Completely agree with you about the chainset... It's a good looking chainset in it's own right, but not so much on a mid 90's bike! It kind of takes over..
 
only a 1990 Kona P2 Fire Mountain fork, don't take notice from the rest parts :LOL:
