On the positive side, the frame itself was unmolested, so it can always go back to proper service in the future.
Add in the fact that it's a girl's bike and it starts to look strangely attractive.
If it were your girlfriend's bike, would you dump her?
You can tell it's an original 1989 Alien by the seat tube lug with the swooshy "N" cutout on the side:

I was in Henderson’s Metal in Edinburgh the other day and saw what looks to be an Alpinestars Cromega getting a grey powdercoat - does it belong to anyone on here?

The product of yesterday's labour - following the passing of my old work bike (P7) behold the new work bike.
Mudguards till to be fitted as I didn't notice that the Thorn forks have eyelets for everything including the kitchen sink but none for mudguards!?! Drat...have to buy a separate front clip-on one.

You could use the braze ons on the back of the fork blade. Nice bike.
