And I still haven't put my Lightning together.

looking good! is that a repair/repaint job? the shifter housing braze on the downtube looks unfamiliar to me. i'm hoping to get my '96 lightning project finished in the next couple weeks.

It's a 1997. Yep I repainted it, I bought it on here with pretty bad paint, I was just going to use it
but I knew I would never get round to painting it, unless I stripped the paint off.

Cable stops? If you look at the 97 catalog the mech cable stops on the Jet Stream and Lightning
are on the downtube, Joe says they shouldn't be. I have a 97 Jet Stream and the stops
are on the head tube.

oh cool i never noticed that difference in the 1997 catalog. i guess i've only owned frames of 1996 model year and earlier. your paint looks great. looking forward to seeing it built up.

Re:

Here's mine. Purchased as a frame and built her up with very nice mostly period correct goodies. Have a marz z2 atom bomb on the way to replace the worn out air duke race. Should lower the a2c and give a nice plush ride.

my ex. long restoration with tube replacement etc... and repaint as per original specs (just better as the original paint would fall off from looking at it)

First rate restoration there!

Recently finished my 1991 Lightning Flash. Original wasted paint.
