Show us your bike history..

Significant off road bikes owned.

1979 Puch Team Murray BMX. Orange and Black. One of the first imported BMX's really. Kids used to call at my house to ride something other than a Grifter, Strika or Chopper. I used to ride it off road on a dirt BMX track next to the Marine Lake in Southport. Well, it was off road!

1988 Trek. It was respayed Green by me, but don't recall its original colour or model number. It was my brothers and I used it for our late night riding. We would have a few drinks then head off to the local golf course and aim to complete the full 18 holes on our bikes in the dark. Very interesting experience, riding into ponds, dropping off sand bunkers and being shot with hot rice!! More of a regular laugh than serious off road. It went on for over a year.

1988 Cannondale SM800 I think it was '88. It was called 'beast of the east'. I loved the weight but hated the ride. It beat me up!

1990 Marin Team Titanium. It just did everything and became a test bed for every possible component change for a very long time. It only recently retired to a place at the back of the shed, awaiting restoration. Top bike!!

1995 Marin Ultimate Titanium. All that was good, but stronger and better. Still being used as my regular off road ride. A real unsung hero!

All the rest appeared as I delved into the retro world.

I daren't go through all the road bikes that I had, or the countless bikes I owned for a day, then sold them on to a mate. It comes from working in a bike shop spare time and having a mate who's a bike shop owner. Too many impulse purchases!
