Show us (your) 80's mountain bikes !

Re:

The late 80's was my favourite years for mountain bikes, here's a couple of the bikes i dreamed of owning as a kid and now do :)

The 1989 Team Stumpjumper is in hibernation at the minute while i'm finishing a few projects. The 1988 Cannondale SM1000 is finally being built and is ready to go to Argos for a respray and my 1988/89 Kona Explosif is currently having the old Deore ll groupset swapped out for a nos Deore ll one.

Hi, I show you my Peugeot Dakar 21 Pro from 1988. It still keeps the original Michelin tires. I bought it for only 30€. It is equipped with a full 21 speed XT730, pedals included. The frame it is made of Reynolds 531 tubes. The groupset was very dirty but in a fantastic condition once a did a fast cleaning. The frame needs a little restoration, I will start with an oxalic acid bath to remove the oxide. I like it a lot, and the XT is very very smooth.

Some pics after a quick cleaning, i hope to make a fast restoration in no time.

Cheers!
Emilio
