Thought I would post up, as I just picked up a 98 FSR and the thing seems in VERY good condition, basically all original right down to the tyres, and all (seems) in very good order. Has Deore LX rr mech, STX RC front mech, Manitou Pro fork, DC 757 V-brakes, Spesh Strongarm crank, RS Deluxe rear shock. I picked it up last night and have kept nipping out to the garage to have a look haha what a nerd. I'm posting this then taking it out to a local trail centre (Haldon near Exeter) to see how it rides.
It's my first full suspension bike, and the second specialized I've owned (first was a Hardrock back in 88, my first proper bike which has long since gone to the tip
) .
One thing I would love to know is basic maintenance for this as all these joints worry my, so if anyone could enlighten me on a good meaintenance regime for the rear end I'd be grateful.
Anyway, here's a picture of it sitting in the garage with my wife's bike (The blue one) and my hardtail. As you can see I've been a Kona guy since the late 90's after 7 or 8 years on a 91 Marin.
So, I'll be back on a little later with a pic or 2 of it with a bit of mud on with any luck!

Wow, Really enjoyed a few hours out on it, I don't know why but I've always expected Full Suss bikes to feel less connected to the trail, but I didn't feel that at all. There was a good section of uphill too, and again, this is somewhere I was expecting to be a bit all over the place on a suspended bike but it was really planted and just got on with it, even out of the seat giving it some beans. Overall - man I am so glad I put my hand in my pocket for this bike, I can tell I'm going to love owning and riding it! It's a large-size frame and fits me perfectly, makes me think that my Kona has been a little too small for me all these years!
Meantime - as on my last post, anyone with any info on maintenance for these I would love to hear it.

BETD links are designed to alter the suspension without you needing to fork out on a new shock as well.
So 165mm i2i shock.
The frames were designed for a 100mm forks, but I ran a set of 120mm Marz MX comp with no issues, anything more and I suspect you would though.
