Yep, perfect, okay.

Gotta have to change them to a standard screw/bolt, as the previous owner probably seized or changes them :)

OK after reading through a number of pages... can anyone tell me what the i2i and stroke of a later fsr, the one with the tube front end (2000ish) is?
factory linkage.

Mine, i think, is a 99 or a 2000 and is 6.5" i2i (165mm) x 1.5" (38mm) stroke.

In its current state, need to sort out cutting the seat tube, re-routing the rear brake pipe, and getting it to the LBS to fit and sort out the gear cables

Just out of curiosity: Why a S-sized frame, when you seem a tall guy according to your seat post?
 
See that queue going out this thread, through the lobby and halfway down the block? That's the queue for the Specialized disc brake adapter. Take a ticket.
 
I have used an a2z on mine and it feels pretty secure, I am going to modified it as some point, I will ask a engineer friend of mine to weld the adaptor in place.
