well as long as its got a similar i2i dimension and sub 2" stroke for the stock or Betd linkage ... and can take an equivelant spring pressure of up to about 700-900 lbs ( depending on your weight)... and you're happy with the lack of tuneability and plushness on such a small volume air shock then crack on old lad.... believe me - I've been there!

I'm happy to use coil, just not sure what shock to get unless I use my old one get new spring for it... I weigh 85 kg I think I'm supposed to get a 700lbs coil. If I knew where I could get a coil shock I would totally get one!

I scoured ebay for a month or two both here in UK, in US and also Germany..
bought a super 165mm Fox R for £40 and two 7" RX's for about £48 each.
these longer RX's to suit my Mountain Speed link (see my earlier postings and pics).
One of these I spotted on an old knacker of a Trek Y bike... he wouldn't split so I bought tho whole thing for £48 and just got him to post the shock!
They do come up mate.... be patient and always ask even if they say they dont ship to UK.
The build (and rebuildable) quality of the early Fox shocks is excellent.
If you're really stuck though and decide air is the way to go tgen contact Risse racing out in the US.... he'll build you one!

interesting, I do have an old coil shock if you see on the photo of my bike in original form few posts back. Its a fox, but the coil spring on it is, I feel quite soft. Is there somewhere that I can get a new heavier one?

I was lucky enough to find a superlative Mountainspeed 6" link and have just sourced not one but TWO Vanilla RX 7" shocks to bounce it..... spring approx 650lbs needed and on its way as we speak...

what about something like this? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/New-MTB-Bicy ... 53fa4de857

also what about my BETD link spring length has to stay 165 right?

thanksman
