approx 100mm.

i ran my FSR with judy XLs which are 100mm, but i've also run it with a set of 120mm marzocchis and i think the RC38s are also 120mm.

just depends how you like the handling, longer forks = a more lazy feel but this can be offset with a shorter stem.

I was going to use a set of 120mm dirtjumpers / allmountains - not exactly sure which they are but I thought they would be ideal but the steerer is too short.

Khane, It's a ridiculously long, extra special directors cut ending, but I don't suppose you still have the tall upper crown on those Judy XL's do you??

i do but it's not going spare unless you want to buy my spare set of judy XLCs with a shorter steerer.

rather not sell my XLs as i may go back to a full retro build on the FSR at some point lol

This is my 3rd FSR. Started with a '98 comp (orange one), swapped that for a '99 comp. Then swapped a massive Lava Dome frame for this one!!

My FSR Comp which I bought in 98. I've always assumed it's a 98 bike but a few of you have said the orange comp was a 97 bike

Unfortunately this bike has just recently (in the last week) been taken out of service, due to a broken rear shock. As this is my main bike I am trying to source a rear shock, before I bite the bullet and replace it.

In the meantime, my 93 Marin Bear Valley is now my charriot of choice. No suspension - it's gonna be bumpy. :shock:
