It was basically a parts transplant from the Hardrock plus odds and sods from the parts bin, Rob. Changed a few things, tried a few things that didn't quite work unfortunately, but reasonably happy with the end result.

How are ye tensioning thon? I've always thought these and Zaskars hit the Retrobike sweet spot, form, function, spendy, and heritage.
 
That looks GR10 ZZ :)

Look's like just a magic ratio K (think that's the term anyway ?), my old E3 used just a 32-16, plain 8 speed chain with no tensioner.
 
looks great zz, very clean looking bike, enjoy your maiden voyage. sure the size with be fine, mine was 18", at 6ft and 33" legs there was plenty of space. there's a lot more length and rise on that stem then I used on what I thought was a 97, although decal were dif' so if thats 97 mine have been some other year.. enjoy ;)
