Should i ride my LE?

Ok, so my zaskar LE has got a dent in the top tube, it's been dented for ages, since it got dented, it was retired. straight away. didn't even ride it home after i got it. just walked her home, can i ride it without negatvely life changing incident? or could i get it heated and popped out? i don't mind if the ANO has too come off, i just want the frame too be fine, there's some major sentimental value too it. :LOL: it's a right bloody shame too, it isn't even slightly dented anywhere else
not even any stone damage or anything. :cry: it also needs a clean. nothing like as bad as the cranks we're that were on it though :LOL:

I'd ride it like that.

Dont know if I could be repaired. Probably the best best is filled and sprayed/powdercoated.
 
No, Honestly, I was riding it on the road, paper route job, (before i found this site, or i'd have bought a crappy halfords job for it) and i had too much put in my bag, and it slid off my back, choked me, and drpooed me, right on a f*cking kerb, :(
 
ride it but keep an eye out for cracks appearing. i'm sure it'll be fine
 
If you're gonna scrap it you could try cutting the end cap off the top tube and knocking the dent out from the inside with a bar.

Except that you have the minor obstruction of the seat tube to prevent you doing this ;)
 
Well aluminium fatigues quickly from over working so it might be best to leave it as is.

There should be no problem riding it if you keep an eye out for cracks around the dent.

If you would like to try something, you can try creating a die for the tube diameter. Heat the dent and then clamp the die on and use the die to reshape the tube.

I have also heard good things about heating the tube and then rapidly cooling to pop dents out. e.g. heat up with heat gun, spray with compressed air or nitrogen or something of the sort.
