@kingbling , I haven't started a thread for this seen as it is the little mans and it has taken a long while to get off the ground. I may get one started now that it is getting going. Information has been hard to come by for it, but getting bits and pieces coming in.
@bikeworkshop , you could well be correct for the 650a but the 650b is going to be easier for him for rims and tyres. I did try a 26 x1 1/8 that sat pretty close to what I need and so that's what sent me down the 650b route. I do know some were built for each as only just last week I seen a 26 x 1 1/8 built model and it was a much later Whitby built frame.

@Walterscot I have sent you a PM about the Shimano 600 brakes.
The rough plan is to put the short reach on to get him mobile and then I will source some rims, tyres etc later. I have some as new 600 Hubs for it.
