Wanted SHORT (and 'nice') 26.0 road 1 1/8 quill stem - if there is such a thing!

Hello, I'm looking to mount some road bars (actually Mavic TT bars) on an MTB for which I'll need a short quill stem. It seems road quill 1 1/8 was not an exactly long-lived format - what might you have that you could release from the fold or any particular stem that you could recommend I should look out for on Ebay? Otherwise it's down the 1-inch and spacer route...
