Shimano tri colour build onto 531 Raleigh

I've been on limited funds for a couple of years, still...wanted to get into road biking so started collecting components....
started with shimano tri colour brake levers NOS...then over several months have managed to get
shimano tri colour 8 speed down tube shifters,
" " crank set - almost new
" " head set looks new
" " front mech NOS
" " rear mech looks new
" " br6400 brake calipers f & r almost new with blocks to match
" " 32 h ubs with ss spokes on mavic open4cd rims good condition

got 8 speed superglide cassette....will I need to open the width ??

now, I'm about to pick up a frame  at last - I've wanted an old raleigh for some time, so found one today
it's a lightweight frame - its light blue in colour and from what I can tell its a ventura....frame number starts WD..also has a peeling 531 sticker..
it will need paint and forks...if possible 531 forks...not sure this model came with 531 forks so it would be a non purist upgrade....

Im a painter by trade and will paint as appose to powder coat....any good places for sublte transfers...? Should I try and salvage the original 531 sticker or just but new ?

I'll need BB, not sure if i should get sealed or what is available for this set up tri colour 6400 crank

hoping it will be a decent bike -

this frame seems good to my limited view...no idea what colour to paint it...not keen on the period raleigh colour of this so will be changing it...

hoping to build in the next week or two depending on a few final bits to get, cables etc

need a seat also - are the old turbo seats worth buying...there's a few on ebay...

cheers for reading

Sounds like a good plan and will look nice and ride nice being 531 with 6400 Tricolour.
Any sealed BB should be fine in the right size, something like a UN55 would be a good value long lasting option without killing the bank. Most places sell them but a ebay search should show something. Not sure of sizes for a Raleigh, but someone will know.

Nice that you are buying bits as you can afford them. It's going to be all the sweeter when you finally get it built.

As I mentioned in the other thread assuming you have a 68mm shell then as Jamie said a UN55 will do the job. Decent enough quality for reasonable money. Chain reaction have what you need. http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/shim ... lsrc=aw.ds

As for seats, I got a repro Turbo for a decent price from Wiggle I think. Have a root around online and see what you can find. When it comes to colour if you can do a good paintjob yourself then the world is your oyster. Have a read through the readers bikes section and see if anything grabs you.

Good luck. Look forward to following your progress.
