Shimano Octalink bottom bracket maintenance

I've got an Ultegra 6500 Octalink bottom bracket that I'd like to do some maintenance on, just not sure if it's actually possible.

I know that the Dura-Ace 7700 Octalink can be taken apart for re-greasing etc. but it seems to be completely different to all the rest.

Any help would be much appreciated!

According to Shimano tech docs, the only part available for the 6500 is the left adaptor. Duraace completely different

No you can't. Tried (and failed) on a 6500. Good news is you can buy them new for 25 squids

The bottom bracket in question was a used one, so I'll be sending it back.
Is there anywhere that still sells the Ultegra, or should I bite bullet and get the Dura-Ace?

Well my 2014 29er has a octalink bb so I assume they are readily available madison certainly has them

The current Shimano 105 BB-5500 in 109.5mm is almost identical to the Ultegra BB-6500 109.5mm that stopped production a few years ago. Just a nominal 19g heavier.
