Another SRAM user here - I also like the KMC X series which look the biz Most of my cassettes are SRAM and I haven't had any problems with them or the chains. You can get a removal tool for the 'missing link' like this one:

but there are cheaper versions.

If you want to keep it original - I still have an NIP HG92 chain for sale and should be able to obtain more.

SRAM, I use the cheapest one. The one on my road bike has 5200 miles and counting.

Shimano or KMC HG because they were engineered from the get go to work best with it.

I use a gusset chain gs-8 I belive its called seems to be holding up well and half silver so it looks quite good.
