Shimano Handlebars???

Does anyone know why Shimano never made handle bars to go with the groupsets I mean they made seat posts so never understood why they didn't make the bars as well???

They did stems, I had a dura ace one on a road bike when I was a teen, no external bar clamp either, but not sure about bars?

yeah... I don't know why they have pro, why not just market stuff under the groupset name...

Think they're trying to keep the competition happy (whilst maintaining market dominance).
Believe they said once they could make racing bikes as good as any manufacturer, but were afraid other manufacturers would switch to other components if they started competing in their segment. Probably goes for the bars too.

Yeah, that is understandable (was my thought). Bought a pro stem a few years ago trying to get some fit options, then discovered it was shimano, have a workstand also... but personally i'd prefer if it was branded XT or whatever...

do they still make seatposts? or are they just pro too?

looking at their site it seems they make pro headsets, wheels end other stuff... which they do under their regular branding too...

Yeah I agree would have been nice to have seen them branded XT/XTR etc...
