The Zaskar needs a new cassette as it’s jumping on the bottom 2 cogs...Have looked at NOS M737 but they’re over £150!

What’s everyone else using and what’s compatible with M737/ M739 XT?

Cheers

J

I have a good condition XT 737 for sale if interested?
Also have the chain and cassette it was running with.

Re:

I use modern cassettes from Shimano, Sram, SunRace etc.
Good Condition retro cassettes are pricey, the cheaper ones are often too worn.
When it comes to chains and cassettes I just use modern.

Do you mean something like an HG51?...

If you insist on new old stock, keep searching but
Sometimes you just have move forward.

Me, I use these below. Coated, drilled and affordable.
Not heavy either. The apparent mid- table model name means
Nothing, they feel quality in hand.

Re:

the only thing I miss with my HG40 and whatever the newer number is.
Also use the SRAM equivalent (pg850?) is the aluminium cages. the cages are much friendlier on the Ti freehub bodies on hope ti-glides etc.

I don´t use the new Shimano because the 8 speed casettes have a "megarange" or something like that, a big pinion in the last position. I have choose the Sram 850, it is not the low range (830 are cheaper) and looks quite nice.

Chains the same, new ones. In the photo the 11-32 sram.

Cages? You mean an alloy spider which holds the bigger sprockets together? I think apart from the period M73X/M950 8 sp. stuff, nobody makes an 8 sp. cassette with alloy spider anymore (not that I can remember anyone else selling them than the Big S though  ). Well, at least I haven't met with this stuff since the early 00's

Re:

yep the spider, couldn't remember the name, but then I am tapping in between mario kart with the family.
m900/737/950 as you say, I think SRAM did one too. would love sunrace to make one.
