I like this kind of stuff

And.. on similar vein;
Love 'The Lucky One' by her.......... the voice of an angel!
Anything with Alison Krauss, Gillian Welch, & (or) Emmy Lou Harris is superb
Such as;
'Go To Sleep You Little Baby' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4D8YEgAN ... re=related
'Down To the River' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QU513Bkp29I&feature=related
'Boulder To Birmingham' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i0raNP4q ... re=related
In as much as I have no religion, I do like a bit of Gospel*, & not many people seem to do it as well as The Carter Family, & Johnny Cash
'Peace In The Valley' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UfcqC6Ba ... re=related
Not really a gospel, but just read the comments (& he's also by one of my favourite artists; Steve Earle)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NAmBkQDAUh4
That said, I have a liking for Tindersticks (to, me a hard to 'pigeonhole' band)
Such as; 'No More Affairs'** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nZnYR8gc ... 0398D52A77
And;
'Fleet Foxes' ** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DrQRS40O ... ure=relmfu
'Airborne Toxic Event'** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aKEu3EmBCzQ&ob=av2n
'Hafdis Huld' ** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rXJRE_Y26B0 (there was a 'poll' on 'Runners World' forum for the sexiest accent, I suggested this girl, she's Icelandic)
*Curiously enough, a lot of people I know who'd have 0% interest in hymns, like Gospel too!!
I blame 'Oh Brother Where Art Thou?' for their liking... mine for parents who had a great liking for earl Johnny Cash, George Jones, etc......
**There is a connection between these bands....the first place I heard any of them was on The Mark Radcliffe Show', or the later 'Radcliffe & Maconie' show (when it was still on Radio 2)
Edit @ 22:00
Hafdis did this one for an session on 'Radcliffe & Maconie'; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BtGrIsPg ... re=related
I'll also state I have a great liking for Brian Setzer, in all of his guises, from 'The Stray Cats, his solo albums, & now 'The Brian Setzer Orchestra'
Perhaps, it's partly the frustrated guitar playe in me who curses him for being so damned good!!! (& those gorgeous Gretsches!!!!!!!)
Sadly, the 'BSO' never seems to tour here
