North West Mountain Bikes in Cheadle. Don't be put off by the showroom of downhill bikes. They've been around a very long time, so have seen pretty much everything come through their shop. Dig out some old Bula ads from the early 90s and you should spot the owners.
Sett Valley Cycles in New Mills, bit further out. Mainly roadcentric but Sam does have a proper Pace hung up in the back room, and a new fangled modern Pace too. He's the only mechanic I trust to touch my Pace.
