Had a similar email following an EBay listing:

Hello there,
will be okay with the price and would like to make an immediate purchase.A contact address will be needed and the name to be written on the check or bankers draft. Please note that a p.o.box wont be prefarable. Also,in case we do have a deal, I will have my procurement agent come pick up at your place when ready. The fee for this will be included as an overdraft in the cheque or banker's draft made out to you,you will have the overdraft sent to the agency so they can have someone come pick up immediately item is made ready by yourself. Thanks and look forward to doing good buisness with you. Best Regards,

Lessons to be learned:
DON'T trust anyone wanting to pay 'any price regardless' - too good to be true!
DON'T trust anyone who will not provide an address to send to.
DON'T ever give out your home address because someone will come around and nick your bike.

Tried to contact this guy to no joy. Eventually a counterfiet cheque - painfully obivous inkjet affair - turned up for £5000. Quick call to the bank to check sort code and account number. Didn't exist.

All buying and selling I have done has been with 100% genuine people but there are a few scammers out there. Luckily they think most of us are incredibly stupid. Just be careful and rememebr that most people are honest guys - if you can't verify there address or phone number give 'em a wide berth!

What they do is that they send you a cheque with a bigger value than the item they want to buy from you .

Then they tell you they made a mistake and ask a refund of the difference , usually with western union .

Very often the cheque is counterfeit but from genuine bank , so it appears on your bank account as cleared before being rejected .

By this time they have pocketed the Western Union money ( and the object if sent ).

Very often their english is poor ( even worse than mine ) . and the western union refund is for an african address .

ah joy, what you do is take the cheque from them, copy and print all correspondance to them, frame the cheque with the emails in a nice frame and then sell it on ebay..

scammer art, it'll be the next big thing..

Covert Spam

Best to have some funn with the scammers, I usually reply with an abusive Email, stating where to shove it, or I will report them to Interpol, they then leave you well alone!

Watch out for a scammer called Gavin Moore (moore_g02@yahoo.co.uk)
he has contacted me recently to buy something and then started sending random cheques for large amounts and asking me to cash them and then send him the difference.

Email started off in bad english but now seem to be more fluent.
