Sell or split?

Picked this up for a bargain price yesterday, not really liking it though after a ride. Sell as a whole or split though, it’s a bit too “new” for me to have any idea. It’s a Merlin malt 1 frame with decent components I think. Advice would be welcome.

Thanks

A few nice parts which would likely sell well. If you got it for a bargain price and don't like it, why not move it onto someone else for the same and make their day/week (unless you need the additional cash).

Re:

As above really. But if you split, I'd be interested in the brakes, need a pair to make a complete groupset.

split will pretty much always get you better return financially but it takes time and effort.
As others have suggested if you have time and no money then splitting wins, if your not out to make a big price and just want to move it on then bikes are selling well at present so Im sure you'd find a buyer for the lot.

Looks a nice package either way

For me the fun is in the splitting and making the profit.
I love taking things apart, photographing them and putting them up for sale, but then I’m weird.
I actually have little to no interest in riding bikes lol

So split it!!! Bag it up, list it, make a ton of cash and spend it on more bikes, fill your garage! :)

Re:

Your not alone there!! I do like that too, I’m going to give it another go this weekend before I decide. I like the idea of having something a bit more modern, maybe I just need to get used to how different it is.

They’re quality parts and Merlin had a good reputation for frames (wherever they sourced them from). If you venture off-road it’s going to be a lot of fun. Yes all the modern bikes are way more accomplished but in their way that reduces lots of the trail to ‘hardpack’ , never testing you or your skills. I’m old enough to remember downhills on a GT fully rigid MTB! The exhilaration of hitting the sweet spot and getting to a speed where you’re ‘surfing’ the rocks on the trail will never leave me. Now my full suspension (still old school 26”) glides over the same tracks for me (tbh it’s almost as exciting as now I’m 60 I’m quite brittle and tumbles take their toll).
Oh and if you split, how much for the wheels?
