After part stripping down my recently aquired Kona Explosif i have reached a stand off with the rear mech which although free in the hanger is not moving as the pivot bolt is totally seized. DOes anyone have any tips on how to get it out without ruining it please?
I can drill it out if need be but if anyone has any better ideas I'd appreciate it.

Or some penetrating oil and leave overnight?

Well the penetrating oil didn’t work but a kettle of boiling water did just enough to loosen it to take it off. The inky downside is that the tab that holds the tensioner screw on the back of the derailleur had fatigued and has fallen off. Can I run it without it?

Re:

You need the tension screw I'm afraid. Iirc, you can use parts from similar era mechs like xt. I may have have one. If you can post a pic of yours I can compare.

Thanks for the offer. I’ll have a look in my spares hoard as I think I’ve got some old ones in the garage.

Re:

I’ve found one on a spare dx which has fitted fine so all is good on that side. However, I tried swapping the jockey wheels over but the ones I have are too wide in comparison to the original xtr ones despite being 7/8 speed. Anyone any ideas on replacement jockey wheels that will fit the xtr please?
