Is it possible to shim a 26.4 seatpost to 27.00?

I can find loads of other sizes or is this size to small to shim?

If all else fails I have a nice 27.0 Syncros post in black with white logo, 330mm long I believe if you fancy it.

Thanks for the offer but I need a specific post for a specific build and thats all I can find at the moment!

Following on from the Bodge thread you could carefully cut up a beer can and wrap it around to take up the slack. I bought a second hand bike and this is how the seat pin was installed with a bit. Has been fine.

Coca cola cans are 0.1 mm, so wrap 3x, a bodge but if it works, what does it matter

Re:

Try your local engineering suppliers for shimstock, this is used to precisely align pumps, motors etc.tell them the dimensions and they will give you the exact shimstock to suit. Its cheap too.

Thanks, I'll take a look at that.

I'm going to wait till I get the seat post and then go from there.

Re:

0.3mm wall thickness on 26.4 to 27.0 will be fine.
Both U.S.E. & X-Lite do shims with 0.2mm wall thickness - U.S.E 25.0 to 25.4 & X-Lite 25.4 to 25.8
