Seatpost shim for mid 90s Orange P7?

Hi - I'm currently building up a mid 90s Orange P7. The Orange website states that it requires a 27.2 seatpost + shim.

I found this shim on the orange website, but it says for P7 2006-9:

Does anyone know whether this will fit my frame? I think it probably will, but wanted to confirm.

Re:

Is the seat tube such an odd size that you csnt get a post without needing a shim?

My clockwork took a 30.0, not sure what size a p7 would need but surely it is not an uncommon diameter?

My 1995-96 mid-year one (not quite like either catalogue) takes a 29.8. Probably that's ovalisation from welding heat stresses. Try the 30.0 first but you might be unlucky.

Re:

My 1997 P7 had a 29.8 shim in it, see the below from the 1997 catalogue...

I've even got a 29.8 shim, yours for £7 posted. Left over from my P7 with an experiment with a carbon seatpost...turned out it was no lighter than the stock 26.4 steel one!!!

Re:

Thanks both. I bought a 30mm post off Ebay on Sunday, so will try that when it arrives. If it didn't fit, I'll look at the options.
I've also got the shim arriving from orange which I ordered on Saturday - cancelled on Sunday when I bought the post. They contacted me today and said that it had already left but they would refund me and I can keep it (great service from them).
