seatpost diameter for 1991-92 marin muirwoods

my very old Marin Muirwoods (the bright yellow green one from the early 90s) needs a new seatpost and saddle. can anyone tell me what size the seatpost is? i bought a 25.4 but its too skinny

anyone help?

The skinny stayed frames (like Palisades) were often 26.2.

Not an easy size to find, USE + Shim may well be simpler.
