Scottish Retro Bikers

Trying to think of real centre of Scotland locations.

Is there any good riding near Perth for example.

Is Laggan too far North or West from people.

Or around Pitlochry maybe !

Come on people think but also bare in mind January/Scotland means brrrrrrrrrr and very probably frozen water of some form.

A winter meet extremely Cool

Dunkeld is very close to Perth and offers up two options; Fairly contained fire roads and singletrack at the hermitage and real hard man out in the wilds on the old Queen's Road up around Loch Ordie.

My money would be on the hermitage since as you say it will be January...

fort bill is at least 3 hours for me, and a lot further for those in aberdeen. dunkeld way sound even

Yeah me too. Sure we'll find summat.

I was born in Inverness and lived in Glasgow, been all over, now live in Carlisle...............do I still qualify as a Scottish retrobiker ??

Marmite King,

If you ride with us the answer is a resounding YES :D

Greenfinger has spoken of riding with us in the future and he is Carlisle based to, look him up.

Cheers

Fort Bill must be pretty central?
Erm, best I've ever done it is around 4 hours. I can do Gretna in less!!

Dunkeld sounds good, Loch Ordie especially if it is not too icy.

Done some google map checking of distances to Dunkeld from the locations of some members.

From Kaiser in Saltcoats its 109miles.

From me near Edinburgh its 65miles.

From Carlisle its 155miles.

From Aberdeen its 82miles.

I know Kaiser would make the effort and the Edinburgh and Dundee reps would and I'm sure Aberdeen members could also but Carlisle members will require real fortitude. Transport from Edinburgh/Glasgow for those from Carlisle who wished to let the train take some of the strain could probably be arranged !

I vote Dunkeld in January if we can get a passable weather window :D

Cheers

I'd be taking my works van so i could take 2 others from Glasgow?
Also, my Kona will be nowhere near built by then so i'd have to take my distinctly non-retro Stumpjumper FSR, if that is ok?
