i have a raod tyre of the above make and it has a 3mm slit in the middle of it,will it still be ok to use

Re:

Depends, does the 3mm slit go all the way through the tyre?
You can repair the tyre by putting a patch on the inside of it, or using a piece of old inner tube to patch it.

Use your own discretion but err on the side of caution.

Personally, without seeing the cut, I'd be inclined to just replace the tyre.

What model is it? Durano? Kojak?

If it's actually a slit rather than just a cut from a flint or something I'd deflate the tyre, clean the slit (electrical contact cleaner is what I use) then some superglue into the slit.
If it opens up when you pump it up. It''ll be your call if you use it again!
(I use some special flexible superglue, also used for sticking RC car tyres to the rims. Normal stuff does also work, just not as well!)

Re:

cheers i got em off a mate but when i pumped em up i noticd a slit ill let the tyre down tom and check

When in doubt, replace. IF it's bad enough to affect structural integrity, the tyre will always tear under heavy stress, just when you really want to rely on it (for instance during hard cornering, braking or landing after a jump).
