Finding the seatpost could be a problem.They only used that system in 1984 !

There will be a few about. I think Moser bikes had them for a while too, but of course diameter may be different.

I'm guessing at this period seat-tube diameter may be still very French at 28mm, making 0.8mm wall thickness so absolutely in the lightweight zone for the period. May have a BSC freewheel if it was an export model. BB is out - French thread would be my guess.

asking because '84 was about the time frankish producers began their wander into the lands of ISO

P also employed CH off and on for some models going back at least as far as the fifties

I've been to a lot of jumbles in France and I've never seen one if these Atax seat posts. I think they're pretty rare outside of eBay. They came in a large variety of sizes so I think you might have to be very lucky to find a 26.4mm outside in the wild.
