I bought this old frame off LGF a while back, one of his classic skip/dump finds and thought it deserved to be back on the trail where it rightfully belongs. Just a basic budget mix of stuff I had lying around but there is something about these old Marin's that makes me smile..... :)

great, me mate had one bitd, i loved it, gotta love the skip finds, have 2 myself! looking forward to seeing the build completed, what you thinking to dress her up with?

Iv'e just done a similar project, rescued a 97 Rockhopper from a skip, spoke to the guy owned it and let me take it, turns out the reason for throwing it out was because the seatpost had seized in the frame. A bit of WD, hair drier and brute force job done. Rebuilt it using some old parts i had and begged off a couple of mates. Old moutainbikes should never die.

How the hell do you lot manage to find things like Marin Palisades in skips? More to the point, how do you talk the men in fluoro jackets into letting you fish them out of the skip?
Our local recycling centre is staffed by jobsworths who won't let you take anything. I'd be surprised if they didn't get edgy about you breathing their air.

...back on topic - nice job BTW ;)
