Regardless of whether I supported, or not, her politics, though, she most certainly was a great leader of the country.

I disagree. She was poison to this country, and her infection still lingers.

Any politician that has the balls to 'u-turn' a policy and admit that they were wrong deserves my vote. Lets hope they listen to us a bit more in future.

Hardly likely, that is unless they fear the voting public, for they are not us and nothing like the majority of us, none of them, not labour, conservative or lib/dems, they do not experience our lives but live in their own little fantasy bubble. We need a complete change from the usual three, for all three have become stale.

In 1649
To St. George’s Hill,
A ragged band they called the Diggers
Came to show the people’s will
They defied the landlords
They defied the laws
They were the dispossessed reclaiming what was theirs

We come in peace they said
To dig and sow
We come to work the lands in common
And to make the waste ground grow
This earth divided
We will make whole
So it will be
A common treasury for all

The sin of property
We do disdain
No man has any right to buy and sell
The earth for private gain
By theft and murder
They took the land
Now everywhere the walls
Spring up at their command

They make the laws
To chain us well
The clergy dazzle us with heaven
Or they damn us into hell
We will not worship
The God they serve
The God of greed who feed the rich
While poor folk starve

We work we eat together
We need no swords
We will not bow to the masters
Or pay rent to the lords
Still we are free
Though we are poor
You Diggers all stand up for glory
Stand up now

From the men of property
The orders came
They sent the hired men and troopers
To wipe out the Diggers’ claim
Tear down their cottages
Destroy their corn
They were dispersed
But still the vision lingers on

You poor take courage
You rich take care
This earth was made a common treasury
For everyone to share
All things in common
All people one
We come in peace
The orders came to cut them down

Don't get me wrong - I see what you're saying, there, and I agree on that point.

But for her flaws, and whether you agree with some of her / her government's policies, she was a formidable leader and PM.

Only in the same way Saddam Hussein was a formidable leader, or for that matter Gaddafi, Pinochet, Mugabe, et al..

I just won't have it, she was actually a weak person for showing so little compassion.

Tramp the dirt down.

Well done silverclaws......youve killed the debate again mate......

like the poem though ;)

Awww, don't take old Shinypaws too seriously. He's only joking with you.

I'm guessing he's a home owner, which goes against the very basis of that poem and would make him a "man of property" so he doesn't 'really' believe in what he's saying.

well its funny as one minute he was pleading povety and complaining he couldnt pay his rent or somesuch then he was having a new kitchen........

yep he doesnt believe in what he posts just does so to wind us all up

I think that's the argument of extremes - for all her faults whilst in power, she doesn't deserve to be tarred with those brushes.

She had her failings and flaws - true enough - but internationally, was a strong leader for this country.

Comparing her to Hussein, Gaddafi, Pinochet, and Mugabe is a fallacy of the occluded middle.
