i'm going for 93 then, what's 4 yrs between friends. :p
93 e'm,,, started my current job in 88 and got it a couple of years after that  couple x 2 = about a couple so it's gotta be right this time. :D

As I said in my other post, I'm going for 95, 94 at a push - just from the kit that's on it (rapidfire plus, the type of canties, aheadset, boingy forks).

Unlikely to be 93, because JohnH's Saracen is a 93, and the font on your model decal on the seat-tube is different - so likely at least 94.

the STX cranks date it to 1994 onwards cos thats when STX was introduced (well, late 1993 for the 1994 model year)

The seats low because the lads been on it 21"

Thats lovely, its just like mine!

I know I'm a bit late coming in on this one but I've been on holiday and just got back.

Anyway, I agree that the STX groupset and the aheadset date it to 1994 onwards.
If you have a look at the Shimano M numbers stamped into the components then that should give a clearer indication.
If it says MC30 or MC31 then it will be from 1994. MC32 or MC33 will indicate a 1995 model year.

Oh and may I also add a welcome to you Bungie.

"88 tufftrax bottle cage wanted

Does anyone have a yellow Saracen bottle cage. As you can see my bike needs one to get rid of the orangey yellow cage it has had to put up with for past 20 years. I got 1 when I bought it but H.O. Smiths of Doncaster didn't have a second. I've been looking for another original since I bought bike in 1990.
