Saracen Traverse, 1989 Model, 20" Frame

Dirt Disciple
I'm selling the Saracen, which was my first proper mountain bike, bought in early 1990 when I was a student. I am selling it now as I have a newer mountain bike. So I no longer have much use for this one and cannot spare the space for it.

This bike was made in the day when Saracen only made high quality proper off-road machines. It has a stong Tange double-butted chromoly steel frame with good quality components and makes an excellent all round mountain/everyday fun bike.

Quite a lot of the parts have been replaced over time, but the frame, handlebars, wheels, cranks and seatpost are all original. It has had lots of TLC and servicing throughout its life, so it still rides excellently and has lots of life left in it.

It is a 1989 model (purchased in 1990). It has mostly Deore LX parts, with some original Mountain LX parts (e.g. hubs and crankset). The pedals and gear shifters are Deore DX. The tyres are Specialized Fast Trax.

All added parts shown in the pictures are included (e.g. bar ends, rack).

The bike has a 20 inch frame, so would suit someone at least 6 foot high.

I think if your after an early Saracen Traverse for the larger person then you will not be disappointed.

This bike may be ridden by any potential buyers. If you wish to try out this bike, please contact me. I'm near Watford if anyone wishes to see it in the flesh :)

I am looking for £50 ono.
I can post it for £14.
