From memory of the research I did when I found this bike it was a 92 or 93 era model, based (IIRC) on the exact same offering as a Tufftrax or Rufftrax (I forget which), with the obvious difference being this rather splendid colourful retro paintjob - which was an exclusive offering to Halfords stores in the UK.

Since sourcing it I have thrown a wet sponge at it and given it a once over. It is in great original condition, with a number of small chips and a couple of scrapes but in the main the white paint is still shiny and very smart. I haven't given it the deep clean treatment, im sure the new owner would be keen to do this but as it stands its in lovely daily rider condition and is so bombproof that Id wager it will outlast us all. The original stick-on decals are mostly still there but have peeled in places.
Only non-original parts are grips, tyres, which I have replaced with a pair of NOS Michelin Taiga and Wildgripper Sprint (folding), perfect for summer blasts. The standard black brakes have been replaced with a mint (virtually NOS) set of period correct XT cantis - as I originally intended to throw some upgrades at this bike (thumbies and SS5s would finish the job perfectly).
It rides extremely well, and I have thoroughly enjoyed the Saracen geometry, its very stable at low or high speed. There is a small amount of play in the BB but unfortunately I don't have the correct tool to tighten it. Otherwise, just take a look at the wear on the rims.. because there isn't any! This is a very low milage bike ready for another 20+ years with minimal fuss.
Original brakes, Saracen bottle cage and new chain-stay protector included, I just wanted to demonstrate the complete lack of chain-stay chips and chain-suck!
