Yes, it is very striking, I like that. Frame is quite big though. It shares some features GT have like the protruding joints on the seat and top tube and stem.

I stand corrected, I know Shimano went low profile brakes in 1991, and the LX still had road type caliper brake pad fitting. LX was only low profile in 1992, then the new black LX groupset in 1993
