Saracen Addiction 2000 Help needed **RESOLVED**

Another member selling theirs shows clearly how they strip down, just need to be careful with the anodised bits...

Howdy folks, new to the forum and I'll do the introductions in the appropriate thread in a sec...

The Forum was recommended by my nephew who works at Melksham Cycles, after I queried an issue over my bike forks.

As the title suggests, I have an Addiction 2000 downhill rig in my fleet which has served me well over the years having owned it from new.

Whilst in near mint condition, the Stratos Superstar 360 forks have developed a leak on the left leg, rendering the bike useless.

I have trawled the net regarding the history of the forks, an apparent wrangle with a competitor made sure the forks manufacturer was put out of business due to a copyright infringement in the oil damping design.

So, my dilemma is that a set of forks that retailed at around 900 quid don't have any official support, so the strip down and oil seal replacement is becoming a boring conversation with so many specialists contacted over the last months.

If anyone remembers them, understands the strip down of a 100% anodised upside down style fork, or knows someone who might, please let me know.

It's a real shame to see such a great piece of kit go to waste if I need to invest in new forks over one proxy oil seal!

I will post a photo when the man flu subsides

Cheers
DHJ
