Re:
Ok bit of a story here. I have the kili comp
Reason being, I have a hire car which has to be returned before the official end of the auction and I was near tonbridge.
With less than 24 hrs to go and no bids - and no trouble of packing and posting - the seller was happy for me to take it.
I don't particularly like it when an auction ends early. However, with most bikes I'd probably just think 'some you win...'
This is a bit different. So what I propose is this:
I reckon anyone genuinely interested would be on this site and would be checking here to see what competition they had. So I'll invite bids by PM up to 4.40 tomorrow which was the end of the auction. No extra info, just exactly as if the auction was still running.
If I get any bids over what I paid plus a tenner, then the highest bidder can donate the extra to British Heart Foundation directly through my Just Giving page (I'm doing the London to Brighton ride).
This way I'm not making money out if it and people have the same chance to Own it as if it were still on eBay. I don't think anyone's lost or gained but the seller, and he seemed happy and anything he 'loses' will go to charity anyway.
Postage will be at actual cost Inc insurance but seller was saying 25 which I anticipate will be plenty (it will probably be less).
If I don't get bids I'll be happy, I'm only doing this to keep it fair for the retrobike community.
I'm happy to consider other suggestions and alter this plan if appropriate. Sound fair?
