I have this Salsa stem for sale, I bought it for my Galaxy, but it wouldn't clamp the bars firmly, so I assume the Galaxy has a 25.4mm bar and this is a 26.0mm stem. I'm open to other suggestions though!
100mm centre to centre
~15 degrees of rise
For a 1" headset
Steel with what I think is an aluminium face plate.
There has been a recall on the post 2010 CroMoto stems, I looked at the website http://www.salsacromotostem.com/ and can't see the described hash mark on the stem and there is no Salsa writing down the side. There is some marking on the back of the stem, which I assume but don't know for sure is a date stamp which looks like 'Jan' '04'. Again, I only have the website to go on:
http://salsacycles.com/culture/salsa_cr ... em_recall/
Name of product: Salsa Handlebar Stems
Units: About 6,500 units
Importer: Salsa Cycles, a subsidiary of Quality Bicycle Products, of Bloomington, Minn.
Hazard: The handlebar stems can crack or break, posing a fall hazard to the rider.
Incidents/Injuries: Salsa Cycles has received one report of a handlebar stem breaking that resulted in minor injuries.
Description: This recall involves all CroMoto S.U.L 25.4 and 26.0 threadless handlebar stems and all CroMoto S.U.L. 26.0 quill handlebar stems sold as individual aftermarket units after April 1, 2010. The handlebar stems are black and have the word “Salsa” painted on the extension. The handlebar stems have a hash mark on the inside of the stem bar clamp area.
I'm unsure on pricing some Salsa stems fetch (or at least people ask) silly money. Say £20 including postage withing the UK?
Any questions, please ask.
