** Salsa Ala Carte Titanium **

Re:

tyres arrived today, so fitted the wheels with cassette and discs, and banged the N-Ns on

2.2 on the rear and a 2.35 on the front...... proper chunky!

the frame looks like it was always meant to have bigger wheels, there's loads of clearance, the bends in the stays are in exactly the right place! :D

the big front helps fill out the fork a little more too

Re:

so, this should be it finished now........ ;)

for now anyway i'm really pleased with how it's turned out

Re:

Cheers!

No, i wanted to maximise the comfort of the ti frame and it's light weight.

That and I think the Niner forks are ace looking!

I run a 2.35 front tyre to act as a cushion and it works really well for my type of riding

The Alves is running a sus fork now so I get my bounce fix from that!

Re:

The Salsa got a treat today! :D

Have been wanting to try some of these for a while, so took a trip through to Bothy Bikes in Aviemore and bought myself a pair of carbon H Loop Bars and some extra long ESI Chunky grips, which were a total pig to push on!!

Not had a chance to try them properly as i've only just fitted them, but took a run up the road and back and they feel kinda strange, but in a good way! Guess i'll get used to them, and with luck they will help with the wrist and elbow pain i've been feeling recently

okay, so a very small update in the pedal department.....

bought a pair of used Speedplay Frog Titanium pedals, on eBay for a bargain price, and a new bearing kit at the same time. a wee half hour in the shed tonight and they're all cleaned up with new bearings installed.

a quick check on the scales shows a not insignificant weight saving between them and my XTR 959's :xmas-cool:

In the weight weenie land that is hell of a lot of weight to lose  I've paid ££££ to loose less
Lovely frame with sweet joins
