well, here goes the start of yet another build........

bought the frame on here, beautiful ti lovliness, and gave it a good going over with scotchbrite and a wee polish to freshen it up, then pondered how i was gonna build it.

found new XTR 11 speed triple cranks on ebay for a bargain price, so snapped them up, and have subsequently found myself on a VERY expensive parts buying rollercoaster....... XTR is not cheap!!

some of the aforementioned bike porn arrived today, so here are the first pics, there will be more as the various parts arrive

in the meantime, feast your eyes on this lot!! :D

Re:

I dont understand why 3x11?

Reason for having more sprockets was to reduce chainrings e.g, 3x10 and 1x11

Are those carbon shifter levers?

Re:

well shimano make a single, double and triple in xtr cranks, and the same with front mechs, so I guess they thought it worthwhile! ;)

yeah, carbon shift levers :D

Re:

See my post above regarding the 'matching' cassette for the different number of chainrings.

Re:

brakes arrived today, along with a bb!

the fit and finish on this new XTR stuff is exquisite, it's like jewellery for bikes, i'm sure there's something wrong with me for enjoying how they look and how they're built, but i don't care!

the alloy inserts below the steel rotors to dissipate heat, the carbon levers, it's all super-functional as well as looking the business!

Re:

You've got to love a bit of Salsa Titanium, though I may be biased.

You're not holding back either. What wheels you going for as I noticed the discs are centrelock? XTR or some other kind of bling? Does anyone else do centrelock?
